Art and Pottery

Two art rooms are used by children for their pottery, craft and drawing classes. The school has a well designed pottery room where children of Classes I to V have their pottery classes. The pottery centre is every child’s delight where their nimble fingers create exquisite pieces of art.

Art room has furniture coated with polypropylene material that enables easy cleaning in case of spills. No mess, no fuss-the creator concentrates only on the craft. Courtyards adjacent to art rooms double up as extended art classrooms whenever more space is required.

Fine Arts


Music is an integral part of our curriculum and taught in Classes I to IV. Children are introduced to songs in various regional languages of India. We also introduce various songs depending on the seasons and the festivals celebrated for that month.


Shlokas or Sanskrit verses are good indicators of Indian culture and values. Shloka chanting helps in better pronunciation of letters and words, thereby influencing the respective mother tongue.It improves memory and concentration.

Children learn more about their culture through various stotras and about values through subhashitas. In standards I, II and III children are taught Vishnu Sahasranama,Hayagreeva Stotra, Hanuman Chalisa among others. As they move to standards IV and V, they take part in Shloka recitation competitions. From Standard VI, children are taught Subhashitas. Shloka recitation and Subhashita competitions are held during the school’s literary celebration.


Dance is a type of art that generally involves movement of the body, often rhythmic and to music. Dance may also be regarded as a form of nonverbal communication between humans and research. Dance is part of our curriculum in Class II and children are trained in very basic movements and the emphasis is not in developing any style or genre of dance. Dance is introduced to help children develop a sense of rhythm to various beats of music.

Innovative Labs

The Literature Club engages the students of class III to improve and focus on language – both oral and written. It makes children aware of the functional, formal and spoken language and the differences in each form. Each module has specific language tasks and related activities. For example, under oral language the module contains announcements, speech, lectures, news and conversation.

Language Lab is a class where effort is made to improve the language skills according to the ability of the student. Students in the class are divided into three groups according to their language ability and three teachers handle the class, each with one group of children. Additional practice in spelling rules, usage of proper sentence, comprehension is given if required. Creative writing, writing and comprehending poems are encouraged. Flash cards and activities based on audio and video are shown to students.

Subjects like science and math are brought alive in the well-equipped science and math labs. Children enjoy the time spent in the labs as they learn new things. For instance, a market scenario is created and concepts like identifying the labels on different kinds of foods,categorizing foods based on nutritive value are taught in a practical manner. In the math lab, every new concept taught has a corresponding activity.

The school has a dedicated space – “Invention Lab” – designed to nurture the spirit of invention and innovation in children. The school has partnered with Cloud Mentor – a pioneer hands-on incubation platform for children.

Life Education

Quality Circle Time

A unique programme adopted by the school. This concept has been widely acknowledged as a very powerful tool. Developed by Ms Jenny Mosley, a freelance consultant and qualified teacher with over 30 years experience in mainstream and special education, Circle Time helps children develop their self-esteem and self-confidence. In the school setting, Circle Time method involves all participants sitting in a circle and taking responsibility to solve the problems and issues brought out by them.

Participants take turns to speak, listen and bring their concerns or ideas to the circle. Circle Time ensures that everyone feels valued while simultaneously promoting personal/collective responsibility and better behaviour. It helps children to express their feelings calmly and become more clear, direct and honest with each other. It develops listening skills, empathy,patience, tolerance, understanding, personal integrity and self-discipline. The teacher facilitates the discussion by guiding students to seek solutions.

Story Telling

Everyone has stories to tell — favorite folk tales or fairy tales, stories from childhood, stories learned from friends or other family members, or stories about what happened yesterday.

Story telling is important to children because

  • Enables appreciating Heritage of our country and the world.
  • Strengthens language skills and vocabulary
  • Enforces reading skills
  • Improves imagination in children

Story telling is part of the curriculum for Classes I to III. Resource people narrate fascinating stories to children in an exclusive space in the primary block library. The space has an arched seating area with pin boards on the walls.

Physical and Sports Program

Swimming is introduced as a compulsory weekly activity in Class III and continued for children in Classes IV and V. The school has incorporated swimming as an activity during school hours and trained school coaches train children in various aspects of swimming and its strokes.

Chess is introduced as a compulsory activity in Class III and continued in Class IV too.We have partnered with Edusports  for their sports curriculum for Classes I to IV. Edusports SOAR™ is an integrated Physical Education& School Sports Platform –specifically designed for Nursery -12 schools.

As part of the SOAR™ platform, Edusports offers a structured physical activity & sports curriculum (based on the development needs of children) which is executed on the ground with the help of relevant tools/ props by a qualified full time Edusports Trainer. The ability of the kids to perform and participate in a range of physical activities dramatically accelerates the overall learning process of children – including their ability to interact with others and the environment. Edusports uses structured physical activity and sports as a pedagogical tool for developing mental skills, behavioral skills and physical conditioning in children. The school has a fitness workout for children of classes I, II and III every week which includes stretching and jogging. The 40 minute refreshing break includes stretching, jogging and becoming fit while having fun.

Nature Walks

Learning in the outdoors is very insightful. The influence of watching colourful birds, observing different forms of leaves or cloud formation is astounding on budding minds. Nature walks in their immediate school environment is an exciting extension to their academic learning. Studying of plant life,rocks and minerals and bird watching are some outdoor sessions that interest students of classes I, II and III.
