The Sri Kumaran Children’s Home CBSE wing was established under the guidance of our former director, Smt. Meenakshi Balakrishnan, in 1995 at Doddakalasandra and shifted to a larger campus at Mallasandra in 2009. The school has a demonstrated 29-year-old history of continued academic excellence. It is part of the Sri Kumaran Group of Institutions, which has a 70 year old legacy of providing quality education to students in south Bangalore. The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which is overseen and controlled by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The school has classes from I to XII.

Sri Kumaran Children's Home has received many awards and accolades for its academic merits and holistic approach, under the excellent leadership of Mrs. Deepa Sridhar, Director - Academics. Our school became a part of the network of Ashoka Changemaker Schools as it was conferred with the Ashoka Changemaker School Award in 2017. Our school also received the HP Innovation in Education Award in 2010.
The students of Sri Kumaran Children's Home have received recognition for their hard work and dedication. Our school stood third in the country in the consecutive years of 2014 and 2015 for the National Financial Literacy Assessment Test conducted jointly by CBSE and NCFE. We won the Shell Junior National Science Scholars Award 2012, for the written scholarship examination conducted by Shell India and the British Council.
